Losanna - Tribute to Selena Quintanilla

Losanna is a Mexican-American singer and songwriter. She was born in Richmond, California, and moved to Guadalajara, Mexico at the age of five. From an early age, she showed a strong interest in the performing arts and dreamed of becoming a television actress.

At the age of 16, she began preparing professionally for a career in entertainment. In 2008, she started performing in theater while studying Performing Arts at IDEA, the acting school founded by renowned Mexican actress Ofelia Cano, from which she graduated in 2009. During this period, she discovered another great passion: singing. She soon began performing with the versatile live band La Nota.

In 2012, she participated in the television talent show “Lo Que Más Quieres” produced by Televisa. This opportunity helped open doors for her in the entertainment industry, and in 2013 she moved to Puerto Vallarta to pursue opportunities in the hotel and tourism entertainment sector, where she quickly found success.

Her talent led her to become the lead singer in the shows produced at Santuario, a private entertainment venue within the luxury resort complex Vidanta World, where she performed regularly beginning in 2015.

In 2018, she decided to launch her independent artistic project, Losanna Music, performing at private shows, social events, and musical productions alongside internationally recognized artists and productions such as The Mosoul Concert with Dwight Blake, Karen Souza in Concert, Postmodern Jukebox, José Carlos in Concert, and a Tribute to Whitney Houston featuring Diana Villamonte.

In 2020, she produced her first large-scale private show, “Losanna Pop Show,” for the New Year’s Eve celebration at the Palladium Hotel & Resort in Punta Mita. Due to its success, the production was invited to become a recurring show at the resort’s main theater, where it continues to be performed today.

In 2021, Losanna was selected to compete in La Voz Azteca (formerly La Voz México), delivering two impressive performances on national television and receiving outstanding praise from judges Miguel Bosé, María José, Edith Márquez, and Chuy Navarro.

In October of the same year, together with her production team, she created a larger-scale theatrical production at Teatro Vallarta: a spectacular tribute to Selena Quintanilla and her band Los Dinos. The show highlighted not only her powerful voice but also her dancing and stage interpretation, bringing the legendary Selena to life on stage. Audiences were amazed by her vocal range and versatility — as the saying goes, she sings everything beautifully, even rancheras and cumbias.

The production was a major success.

In 2022, the Selena Tribute Show was selected as part of the 2022–2023 season at Act2 Theater in Puerto Vallarta, and the production continues to tour and perform across Mexico.
